Pilates Studio

At the pilates studio you will find the apparatus’s that make Pilates a unique system. A 50min private, semi-private, or trio session incorporates the foundation of what pilates works; Strength, Stretch, Stability,Stamina and Breath. The studio apparatus includes, Reformer, Cadillac, Wanda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector. The pilates system includes mat work, along with the apparatus.

Reformer Pilates

This variable resistance makes this type of pilates unique and suitable for every level of ability. ​ There are countless benefits including:

Core strength and balance
Body muscle tone
Improved flexibility and posture correction

Chair Pilates

The chair has a seat and a foot bar with springs attached. Users can sit, lie or stand on the chair or the floor and push the foot bar with their hands or feet. ​

When it comes to building strength in the legs or shoulders, the chair is considered the most effective piece of Pilates equipment. The perfect exercise for golfers, skiers, runners, tennis players,  or anyone  looking to increase  upper body strength.

Mat Group Classes

Mat classes are open to all level’s, unless specified. Classes, are group size, utilizing your own body weight while performing movements that encourage proper alignment, articulation of the spine, breath, and fluidity. Each movement is taught while I move around the class, teaching with verbal cues, and positive support. The benefits of Mat classes include: core strength, balance and coordination, body muscle tone, improved flexibility and posture correction. 

Tower Pilates

tower pilates woodstock vt lucy dunneThe tower is a piece of equipment that uses a variety of attachments including a roll-down bar, arm springs, leg springs, and a pull-through bar to provide a full body workout. ​

The tower is a great option for beginners since the exercises are performed slowly and with a focus on control.  Using the tower we generally focus on one body part at a time, making it a great rehabilitation tool as well for those needing physical therapy. Exercises range from beginner to advanced making this a good option for anyone seeking strength, balance and overall fitness.
